DESCRIPTION:Sunday 22nd November Juicing at Stanmer 11.30am -
4.30pm\n \n \n Join Ben & Nick and help juice frui
t we've either picked or collected around Brighton
/Sussex. This fruit would have gone to waste but w
ith your help it will be turned into delicious jui
ces and ciders. Learn hands on about small scale j
uice and cider production\, some of which we'll se
ll on the day to the passing public.\n \n \n \n No
experience is necessary\, and new volunteers very
welcome. Our juicing sessions are fun\, messy and
fast paced\, as we need to make sure the fruit is
pressed before it spoils. Please note this is a v
ery physical activity\, with some heavy lifting (a
round 15kg) of crates and stretching\, as top of e
 quipment is 1.6m.\n \n \n \n IMPORTANT: Please do
not register to take part if you are ill or have h
ad any sickness or diarrhoea in the previous 14 da
ys.\n \n \n \n Wasp season in the UK generally sta
rts around April and finishes around mid October.
We therefore advise that anyone with an allergy to
wasp stings does not help out during this period.
 \n \n \n \n Unfortunately\, due to the fast pace o
f these sessions and the size and nature of some o
f the equipment involved\, this session is not sui
table for under 16’s. We're keen to buy more suita
ble equipment to run family-friendly juicing sessi
ons - so please contact us with any funding opport
 unities you think we could apply for.\n \n \n \n P
lease register for this task\, so we know who is c
oming and only register if you are sure you can co
 me.\n \n \n \n Your hosts\n \n \n Ben Jasnocha & N
 ick Casey (https://brightonpermaculture.org.uk/nic
 k-casey/) \n \n \n \n When you register you will r
eceive an email which will give you a contact phon
e number in case you need to call on the day.\n \n
  \n \n Practical stuff\n \n \n Please bring whatev
er food and drink you need to sustain you for the
day (please note there is a cafe opposite the Frui
t Factory). There are also tea/coffee making facil
ities in the Fruit Factory. Please dress for outdo
 or/rough work\, tough shoes\, suitable clothes etc
. Please bring work gloves if you have any\, and a
lso a pair of marigolds if you have some. Hands te
nd to get cold washing apples\, so having a pair o
f rubber gloves with something underneath if possi
ble will really help.\n \n \n \n We are working ou
tdoors so dress as weather conditions dictate.\n \
n \n \n There are toilets adjacent to the Fruit Fa
ctory and also toilets at One Garden nearby. Pleas
e do not urinate in the Stanmer orchards.\n \n \n
\n Please note that for all the activities all chi
ldren under the age of 18 and people with support
needs must be accompanied by a parent/carer who is
responsible for their supervision\, safety and an
 y medication needed.\n \n \n \n Directions\n \n \n
We will meet at the Fruit Factory which is in Sta
nmer village almost opposite the cafe. See 2nd map
down via this link:\n \n \n \n Maps and travel in
 formation for Stanmer Park (https://brightonpermac

 ou get lost\, please call.\n \n \n \n Please check
emails night before in case we have to cancel due
  to unforeseen circumstances/poor weather.\n \n
